报告摘要
Since the first experimental realization of Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) in 1995, many intriguing physics have been observed with ultracold atomic gases. For instance, solitons, the fascinating topological excitations of nonlinear systems that can move in their medium without losing their shape, have been engineered in BEC. I will talk about our recent results on the investigation of a new type of soliton, magnetic soliton, in a binary BEC. In the absence and in the presence of a coherent coupling between the two components, the magnetic soliton solutions exhibit interesting distinct features . I will also briefly discuss our recent experimental observation of the spin-dipole oscillation and polarizability of a binary condensate.
