Sino-Canadian workshop on microfluidic chip food safety detection was held in Minhang campus of East China Normal University on July 9, 2020. Professor Jie Chen of University of Alberta and his partners of University of Chemical Technology, Hidaca company and Lipton company, experts of Bright Dairy, members of State Key Laboratory of Precision Spectroscopy and Engineering Research Center for Nanophotonics and Advanced Instrument attended this  meeting. Due to the COVID-19 epidemic, experts and scholars from the University of Alberta, University of Chemical Technology, Hidaca company and Lipton company attended the meeting online.

The theme of this conference was to discuss the application of microfluidic chips in microbial manipulation. At first, Professor Jie Chen of University of Alberta gave a report to introduce the research foundation and frontier application of microfluidic chip. Director Chunping You of Bright Dairy Research Institute made a report to share the Bright Dairy’s history and experience of product development and marketing promotion. After that, Xin Li, Botao Wu and Ming Yan made reports respectively to introduce their research progress and application prospects. All experts exchanged from each other and discussed the possibility of cooperation in personnel training, joint scientific research and other fields in the future. Finally, Executive Dean E Wu of JIAST led several experts from Bright Dairy to visit the State Key Laboratory of Precision Spectroscopy.

In this conference, several experts and scholars from many universities and enterprises were gathered to exchange the application of microfluidic chip in microbial manipulation, and explore the possibility of joint scientific research and business cooperation in the future.
