报告内容简介:

Developing integrated sources of single-photon and entangled two-photon states of light is an important problem in the field of optical quantum technologies. In particular, preparing single-photon states via nonlinear optical effects in microring resonators is a promising approach to develop compact and effective on-chip devices. In doing so, a system of coupled microring resonators which is often referred to as a photonic molecule has proved to be a useful structure for creating effective quantum light sources and controlling basic properties of the generated quantum states. In this talk, I will give an overview of the recent progress in this field and describe some new feasible schemes of such single-photon and two-photon sources.

报告人简介:Alexey Kalachev received his M.S. degree in 1992 and his Ph.D. degree in 1997 from the Physics Department at Kazan State University. The subject of his PhD was photon echo in Van Vleck paramagnets. In 2010-2011 he was a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Physics and Astronomy, Texas A&M University. His Habilitation thesis, defended in 2011, was devoted to optical superradiance and quantum storage in doped crystals. His current  research interests focus on developing solid-state optical quantum memories and heralded single-photon sources for optical quantum computing and quantum communications. In 2015, Alexey Kalachev became Head of Zavoisky Physical-Technical Institute at Kazan Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In addition, he is Head of the Department of Optics and Nanophotonics at Kazan Federal University and Professor of Russian Academy of Sciences.
